Mostly whimsy and drivel of no consequence. And CHEESE.
I’d like to wish all my “snookums*” a VERY HAPPY CANADA DAY yesterday. I hope you participated in some of these festivities. Or others of your own designing.
*Yes, yes, it’s CANUK. I learned the hard way.

Thanks, Kate!
I spent it all red and white — red strawberries and white sugar. Result: twenty-one jars of strawberry jam, some frozen, some bottled, and seven cartons of sliced strawberries. A man I met at St John’s had picked four baskets of the berries on Friday — I’m sure he had no idea how much work that would necessitate Saturday and Sunday! Anyway. . . I hope he and the neighbours enjoy the fruits of our labours!
As the Snowbirds were doing their regular flyby at noon, Gordon and I, with some friends, had left church to enjoy bagels and lox at the nearby deli. And as I heard the fireworks boom from Parliament Hill, I was mopping up from the strawberries. So much for mass celebrations! Chacon a son gous, eh?
Thanks, again, for remembering your Canajan friends.
Love,
Maureen

Well, the celebrations of your own designing sound not only delicious but VERY patriotic. Better than fireworks ANY day.
I MISS my Canajan friends. Please give my love and kisses to Gordon and Gaston and ESPECIALLY good hugs and kisses and all my love to you.
